Once we got to Mae Kampong Village, we parked our motorbike on the left and started to explore the village by foot. At the bottom of the Village there are many restaurants, where you can sit peacefully right next to a little creek that goes through the village. Definitely a must-see is, at the top of the Village, you should definitely check out the cafés up there, they build some amazing balconies with incredible views over the village and the mountains.
Another few hundred meters uphill, you get to a waterfall. When we went there, there was nobody else there, and we walked up hundreds of steps. It feels like they never end.
There are so many homestays there, which all look incredibly peaceful and nice to stay, but honestly we only did a daytrip from Chiang Mai and that gave us more than enough time to explore the village and make some stops on the way as well.
